This is the name we keep hearing about since the beginning of 2015. The Ibeyi duet, consisting of twins Kaindé Lisa and Naomi Diaz, are the sensation of the past months. At just 20, the two daughters of the late Anga Diaz, who was the Buena Vista Social Club percussionist, inherited the talent of their father. The result: an eponymous album with incredible grace where ‘cajón’ and ‘batas’ flirt with jazzy electro beats in a set magnified by Yoruba spiritual songs. Somewhere between Björk and Nina Simone, the planet IBEYI illuminates.
