A musical legend will bring the curtain down on our 2016 edition … The awesome Abdullah Ibrahim, also known by the pseudonym of Dollar Brand, is a historic figure in jazz, but also of the South African anti-apartheid struggle. Picked out and encouraged by Duke Ellington right at the start of his career, he has crossed paths with the greatest, from Max Roach to Archie Shepp via Elvin Jones. After a fifty-year career and as many albums, Abdullah Ibrahim does us the great honour of bringing his magic notes to the Nice Jazz Festival. We can look forward to an unforgettably beautiful set.
