Steps Ahead, was first of all a legendary band started by the vibraphonist Mike Manieri in a club on 7^th Avenue, New York in 1979, along with Eliane Elias in particular, already at the piano… 11 albums later and after distinguished solo careers, the group has gone through several mutations to become this “Steps Ahead Reunion”! Along with the two founder members there is the saxophonist Donny McCaslin (who played so memorably on David Bowie’s final album), the bassist Marc Johnson (long-time cohort of Bill Evans) and the drummer, Billy Kilson, who has played with Dave Holland for the last 20 years. An all-star line-up to enjoy!
