Raye is a British singer and songwriter blending pop, R&B, and electro. She rose to fame with Secrets and the iconic Escapism, but her career didn’t start off easily. Influenced by Nina Simone, she has a deep love for R&B, jazz, and blues. After years of writing for others and remaining in the shadows due to being undervalued by her label, Polydor, she announced her departure in July 2021.

Now free, she took the legendary Coachella stage in 2024 and won no less than six Brit Awards in a single night. She was also nominated and performed at the 67th Grammy Awards in 2025, where she left a lasting impression with a breathtaking rendition of her latest single. It is a joy and a great honor for the Nice Jazz Festival to open this season with such an outstanding artist!
